FCiências.ID
FCiências.ID is a non-profit private association, created as a joint initiative of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL - a third party in SATO) and 6 private companies. It aims to support, potentiate, and develop R&D activities of its associates, while simultaneously enhancing FCUL strategic partnerships with market and services companies, therefore creating a more challenging environment for research and innovation. FCiências.ID is the legal representative of 20 FCUL research centres covering all FCUL scientific fields, from computer science to philosophy and history of sciences. Many of these R&D activities are developed with international teams and are funded both at National and European levels. The R&D Units involved in the SATO project are IDL and LASIGE.
LASIGE is a Computer Science and Engineering R&D unit with more than 120 researchers, performing top research in R&D lines of excellence, such as CyberPhysical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT), energy CPS and IoT for buildings energy efficiency, Data and Systems Intelligence, and Resilient Distributed and Networked Systems. IDL is an earth, energy and climate sciences R&D unit with more than 130 researchers. The IDL Energy Transition group works on strategies to accelerate the transition to a low carbon energy system, in line with the EU priorities for Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy.

The Department of the Built Environment is Denmark's largest department in construction, civil engineering and the built environment. The research at the Department of the Built Environment is rooted in the field of engineering, but it also contains important and comprehensive elements from the social sciences and the humanities. POLIMI - eERG
The end use Efficiency Research Group (eERG) is dedicated to research, technology transfer, training and education about the efficient use of energy at the building and district level. Born on the efforts of the group leader, initiated thirty years ago at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories, California, the group is now one of the leading proponents of energy efficiency programmes in Italy. The team is composed of professors, researchers and engineers of Politecnico di Milano. The main areas of research are: low and zero energy buildings, comfort assessment and modelling, post occupancy evaluations, occupant behavior, efficient end-use technologies (lighting, appliances), regulatory aspects of end use energy efficiency, passive cooling techniques, role of building fabric in smart cities, energy flexibility and energy analyses at urban level. The group has extensive experience in research projects aimed to reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint by smart and sustainable use, which have been developed with a wide network of national and international partners.

Xtel Wireless originates from the “North Jutland mobile cluster”, which in its time consisted of all the major mobile phone companies located close to Aalborg University. Frederikshavn Boligforening
Frederikshavn Boligforening is a social housing association located in the north of Denmark, here we administer 3500 residences and multiple care facilities. In 2007 Frederikshavn Boligforening merged with the housing association in Sæby making it one of the largest in Jylland. In 2012 Frederikshavn Boligforening created an Energy-policy that seeks to make all buildings energy neutral by 2050. This has been an important step towards an increased focus on energy demands in buildings, renovations with solar panels, Circular economy, the resident’s behavior awareness of their energy consumption, and the willingness to try new ideas in order to benefit the environment. In 2019 Frederikshavn Boligforening became the first housing association in Denmark to receive an ELENA project, which seeks would produce an annual reduction of CO2 emissions of 1750 ton, through energy renovations such as envelope insulation, changing of lighting, upgrades of the buildings heat, ventilation, air-condition and control systems and installation of PV panels.

AMESEIXAL
AMESEIXAL – Municipal Energy Agency of Seixal - is a non-profit making private Association, founded in 2000 by the City Council of Seixal and 11 associates from different sectors of activity. AMESEIXAL main objectives are to reduce energy consumption in all sectors of activity, promote a wider use of renewable energy sources and create conditions for a sustainable development at local level. AMESEIXAL has collaborated in 7 projects funded by the European Commission. Working hand in hand with Seixal City Council services, AMESEIXAL plays a key part in implementing the Sustainable Energy Action Plan – SEAP of the Covenant of Mayors. AMESEIXAL is particularly active in the building sector, carrying out energy audits, promoting energy efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources technologies in residential households as well as in industrial and services buildings. EK Energiekonzepte AG was founded in 2007. It originated from the Initial Project Forum Chriesbach, which set new standards in energy efficiency for research buildings. In 2010 Lenum AG became the majority shareholder of EKAG.
